What if your daughter was sold here?
Red-light/Green-light was an installation presented at Gallery Elbowroom in Gothenburg in 2003. The work posed a single, unsettling question: What if your daughter was being sold here?
The installation consisted of two parts. On the upper floor, the video Perpetuum Mobile was shown on a monitor.
On the lower floor, visitors encountered a large-scale photographic image depicting two young girls, presented anonymously. The image was accompanied by factual information about human trafficking, prostitution, and the structures of sex purchase in Europe and Sweden.
By removing identifying details and shifting the focus from individual biography to systemic conditions, the lower floor addressed trafficking as a structural and societal issue rather than an isolated crime, implicating both demand and responsibility.
