Nordic Art Biennale, Röda Sten Konsthall, Gothenburg, 2001

In 2001, I was invited to participate in the Nordic Art Biennale at Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg.

For the exhibition, I created a three-meter-wide half-sphere made of barbed wire, placed directly on the floor and filled with sugar. I then asked my seven-year-old daughter to make a “snow angel” in the sugar.

The work held play in tension with danger and softness, while insisting on play as an act that persists regardless of its surroundings—allowing a moment of innocence and imagination to exist within a space marked by restriction and potential violence.
