Körper und Frau / Kropp och kvinna is a drama-installation based on a text by Elfriede Jelinek, combining sculpture, voice, and spatial sound. The work explores the body as a site of tension between representation and material presence. The voice is performed by actor Anna Forsell, and the installation was exhibited in Gothenburg and Oslo.
This work constitutes my first so-called drama-installation, a term introduced by art critic Mikael Olofsson to describe the integration of dramatic text, sculptural form, and spatialized sound. The installation, titled Körper und Frau / Kropp och kvinna, is based on a text by Elfriede Jelinek and explores the body as a contested site of representation, projection, and control.
The work combines elements of sculpture and drama, translating Jelinek’s text into a spatial and material configuration rather than a theatrical staging. Excerpts from the text articulate tensions between agency and objectification, desire and discipline, and the body as both autonomous and constrained.
The spoken voice heard from within the sculptural object belongs to actor Anna Forsell. By locating the voice inside the object, the installation foregrounds the body as both present and mediated, emphasizing the relationship between voice, material enclosure, and spatial listening.
Körper und Frau / Kropp och kvinna was exhibited in Gothenburg and Oslo and marks an early investigation into the intersection of text, sound, and sculptural form—an approach that later develops across my subsequent drama-based and sound-oriented installations.
