In 2001, I read a newspaper article about a man who attempted to drown his kittens in a toilet. This report became the point of departure for the sound sculpture I Miss My Cat, exhibited at Frölunda Kulturhus as part of an exhibition on the theme of loneliness.
The work addressed isolation and emotional absence, allowing the title to echo as both a statement of loss and a muted expression of care.
The toilet itself functioned as a loudspeaker, allowing the sound to emerge from an object associated with intimacy, disposal, and isolation.
