Unabom<\/em> is an experimental opera performance that engages with the figure of Ted Kaczynski and the ideological material of his manifesto as a point of departure for the libretto. The opera was composed collaboratively by Lars Hansson, Tony Blomdahl, and myself, and performed by mezzo-soprano Monica Danielsson.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Conceived as an alternative operatic format, Unabom<\/em> was structured around a single vocal performer accompanied by three composer-performers. The musical material was realized using a custom-built electronic instrument, designed specifically for the production, which enabled a live, hybrid sound environment combining composition and performance.<\/p>\n

The work examines themes of isolation, ideology, and technological critique through operatic form, while simultaneously challenging conventional structures of opera in terms of scale, instrumentation, and authorship. Unabom<\/em> was performed in Stockholm and Gothenburg between 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n
